I don't know if anyone has found this out yet, but if you add that word to the JAWS dictionary the problem should be fixed. Don't quote me on that though, I'm not sure if it works. This should keep your JAWS from crashing.

Hello all,

This is not a JAWS problem, by the way, it's an Eloquence problem. Try switching to a different synthesizer in JFW, and you'll see that the word is pronounced just fine without JFW crashing. I think the version of Eloquence included with JAWS is buggy somewhere.

I use flextalk so i have no problem. lol. its cool. I also am using the eloquence from jfw 3.2 which won't crash either. its cool sounding and it works, and its still eloquence although a lot older, still eloquence. lol. shaun.

Speaking about synthesisers, does anyone know if jaws speaks with dolphin's orpheus synthesiser? If yes can anyone tell me how to make it work with Orpheus?
Thanks

I wish i could still use flextalk. I use it once in a while if i'm reading short stories on websites, or old stuff from gutenberg.org, but i don't use it as my primary synthesizer anymore, because it spells too much and is very slow to respond sometimes now that i've gone to xp. if not for those probloems i would still use it instead of eloquence, though i've sort of gotten use to it going up and down the way it does.

i know what you mean about flextalk spelling things. the reason it does this is because of things being in all caps. if you replace things in all caps with things in lowercase it will read just fine. I've done taht and it works fine. its a bit of a hassle but it works. also i use true voice and it does the same thing. lol. also, I use infovox with window eyes since jfw crashes lots of the time and i don't like to use infovox with it. i'm refering to the infovox 230, from teala promoter, not the newer one. That one does not spell when reading all caps. if you want them, just look at my profile and get an email send to me and I'll send them to you. They are pretty cool. I'm using flextalk with both jfw window eyes and hal. Oh yes, and my user name is the crashing machine, formerly known as src333. Shaun.
